Our coaching team brings passion, leadership, and a unified vision to every practice and game. Dressed in official CKATT gear, each coach is trained to deliver top-quality instruction while building character and confidence in our players.

Marcus Wells

Head Coach – U19 (12th Grade)

Coach Marcus has over 15 years of experience coaching elite-level youth basketball in Ontario. Known for his intense defensive systems and leadership development approach, he consistently prepares athletes for university and collegiate-level play. Marcus is a passionate mentor who encourages his players to lead with discipline, humility, and resilience.

Accomplishments & Credentials:

  • NCCP Level 3 Certified
  • Former CIS Varsity Player – Ryerson University
  • 6x Provincial Finalist Head Coach
  • First Aid & CPR Certified
  • Coaching mentor for Ontario High Performance Program (OHPP)
Ryan Mitchell

Assistant Coach – U17 (11th Grade)

Coach Ryan brings tactical intelligence and strong in-game decision-making skills to CKATT’s upper age divisions. With experience coaching at the AAU level, he understands how to prepare athletes for competitive showcase environments and university exposure. He leads with integrity and builds team-first mindsets.

Accomplishments & Credentials:

  • NCCP Level 2
  • 3x Regional Championship Assistant Coach
  • AAU Program Coordinator (2015–2019)
  • Played JUCO ball in the U.S.
  • First Aid & AED Certified
Aleena Foster

Head Coach – U12 (6th Grade)

Coach Aleena blends high energy with a strong teaching mindset. Her background in kinesiology and child development allows her to connect deeply with younger athletes, emphasizing healthy movement patterns and confidence building. She’s beloved for her positive reinforcement approach and structured skill development sessions.

  • BSc Kinesiology – McMaster University
  • 10+ years coaching U10–U14
  • Certified Youth Mental Health Facilitator
  • Former rep basketball player (GTA West)
Brielle Thomas

Head Coach – U14 (8th Grade)

With a sharp focus on player communication and team chemistry, Coach Brielle transforms young teams into cohesive units. She’s known for fostering leadership among athletes and helping them read the floor more intelligently. Brielle’s coaching style balances positive encouragement with high expectations.

Aaliyah Bennett

Head Coach – U16 (10th Grade)

Coach Aaliyah is a strategist at heart. She has built her reputation on efficient offense and player discipline, especially in the U15–U17 age bracket. Her practices emphasize tempo, conditioning, and accountability — all while maintaining a high standard for communication and respect.

Daniel Blake

Assistant Coach – U11 (5th Grade)

Coach Daniel has a deep passion for grassroots development. As a former CKATT athlete himself, he brings both legacy and insight to the role. He focuses on instilling good habits early — like court awareness, team defense, and hustle — while keeping the game fun and structured.

  • NCCP Intro to Competition Certified
  • CKATT Alumni (2010–2015)
  • Volunteer Coach at CKATT since 2018
  • First Aid & Emergency Care Certified
  • Honours B.A. in Education – York University
